Guild Security
What i think would make a nice addition (now in my opinion, a necessity) would be the following:
Guild Leader given the option to choose which Officers are able to kick members, or promote members (or both).
I think this should be added soley(sp?) as for Guild protection, security.
Admittedly i am suggesting this now because an Officer of my guild invited and promoted one of his online 'friends', who then promptly kicked everyone he could in my Guild.

Once, I merged with a guild, and one of their new officers promoted EVERYONE in the guild. So I demoted all the regular members, as well as all the new officers. The key to success in any online game is to trust no one. I have four Officers, three are real-life friends.

Isn't the idea of people being officers the fact that you can trust them to know who to promote and who to invite? I mean, perhaps I am mistaken and do not know officers can promote to say...officer status, which is just stupid, but, many guilds which fall apart think officer is just a title to throw onto anyone who happens to be in a long time, rather than a person you can trust to help manage the guild, which it should be.
Can someone tell me the ranks in the guild and their powers? Realistically the only ones of importance are GM, O(fficer), V(eteran), M(ember), R(ecruit), if you even want to go as far with all three of the end ones, it depends on the scale and guild length, and V M R don't really change powers, only one has more say and seniority than the last.

i also had my Guild ruined by a corrupt Officer kicking people out for no reason, just before he himself left my Guild. he decided to screw me and my whole Guild over just because he wanted to leave.
it is ludicrous that Officers are given the power to do anything other than recruit members
Officers should definitely not be able to kick members unless the Guild Leader first clicks on some sort of in-game "authorization" button
of course that button does not yet exist
so in the mean time the game should be patched immediately so that Officers simply do not have any kicking powers at all

Exactly what I was thinking.
Why don't you, as guild leader, demote those you do not feel can set the standard?
You weren't one of those, "recrutin, caps hall soon, first 10 to pm me are officers" guilds, were you?

I agree with this entirely.
Mainly because recently in my guild one officer kicked two members for apparently scamming him and harrassing him. When I managed to get in touch with the kicked members, it turned out that my officer had scammed them out of 300k, and booted them when they wouldn't give more. Originally when I invited the guy I trusted him enough and he seemed like a nice guy. But as the days went on I discovered that he was nothing but a leech, who was arrogant to anyone outside of the guild, and constantly bugged everyone in the guild for gold after I showed him 3 perfectly fine farming builds.
Not everyone shows their true colours, and until you've encountered certain situations there is no way to tell what someone is capable of. If my officer hadn't had the ability to kick (or if he wasn't obsessed over FoW armor), none of this mess would've occurred.
Anything to help avoid similar situations is good in my book.

I agree. I don't think they should be able to promote anyone. They can still invite though.

Agree, officers should be able to kik-promote only if authorized, i'm using in my guild to make officiers just "official preferred members for PvP or GvG" other members are just "trining for officiers" that doesn't mean officers can kik ppl or promote because we have rules and we vote all together before promoting, so they don't need to do.
sorry for my poor english

Also, what is preventing you from kicking someone just to have an officer invite them back in? If I kick someone from my guild, odds are I never want them to return to my guild. Why can't I have a "Banned from Guild" list as well?

I think that's a great idea as well.
On having officers, friends is the only way to go on the trust level. But it just doesn't have to be in real life friends though. Sorry to hear about so many corrupt people in guilds, and yes it is annoying. Hopefully something will be done about the guild security, ban listing, and keeping officers in control.
V. glad about the 100 invitation. Spam on recruiting went down a bit.
